Returns Policy

It’s tricky buying art online and I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase.

What if my painting or print arrives and I don’t like it?

If you’re not fully happy with your new artwork I offer and a refund agreement. You have 7 days to contact me by email and request a refund. Once a refund has been agreed then the buyer is responsible for packaging and arranging the return delivery. The artwork must be returned in good condition – undamaged and unmarked. I cannot accept artwork if it is damaged or unsellable. Once the piece has been safely returned, I will refund your payment within 14 days.

What if my painting arrives damaged?

All work is carefully packed and wrapped when it leaves my studio. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days. Take a photograph of the art and damaged packaging if possible as I will need this to notify the couriers.

FAQs

What medium are your original paintings?

I work in acrylic and mixed media (ie paper collage, graphite pencil, oil pastel, charcoal) when I work on board. The ink I use are referred to as alcohol inks and these need to be painted on a non-porous substrate. I currently use Yupo paper. My figure and portrait work is on paper and uses a range of different graphites and water based inks.

Are your paintings framed?

The work on board is usually framed.

The work on paper is unframed as this is keeps the shipping cost down and allows you to choose the frame of your choice. If you are local to me I can arrange pieces to be framed on your behalf.

Will my painting be ready to hang?

Framed paintings are ready to hand.

More about Limited Edition Prints and Prints

Why are most of your ink works made into prints?

Alcohol ink is a temperamental medium and not very light-fast. By taking a hi res copy of it immediately after producing, I can retain all the colours and nuances of it. Also, because of the way the ink moves I’ve not found a way of working with it on a large scale but I love how the images appear when blown up. There are some wonderful subtle marks and layers that really come to life when the image is enlarged. I sometimes scan the work and work on it cropping and rearranging so as to almost create a new piece of work entirely.

How are your prints produced?

My prints are Giclee prints. That means they are incredibly high quality reproductions of an original artwork. Giclee prints are specialist prints that use archival quality inks and are printed on 100% cotton rag acid free paper. This is very different from regular printing. The work and colours will remain lightfast for almost 100yrs.

Do you make prints of all your paintings?

No, but if there’s a work that you like that isn’t on my prints page then ask me I might be able to have a print made.

Can I order a print at a different size?

Most editions have some sizing options so you can choose what suits you.

Will my print be framed?

Because of the difficulty of shipping glass I don’t usually sell framed work. If you live locally I can arrange framing for you. Please email me at info@hemalimodha.co.uk or add a message to your order. There are lots of online options available too like eframe for ordering mounts and frames online.

How will my prints be shipped?

Prints will be rolled and sent in an extra strong cardboard tube to make sure it reaches you in best condition.
