This painting forms part of a series of work that was made during the pandemic and the various lockdown and restrictions on travel. The places explored in these painting are a mix between places visited frequently and places remembered, maybe even imagined. They are as much about the sensations felt - the time of day, the weather, the smells and the emotions surrounding a place or the day. These are as important to me as the landscape itself.
